Meadville Spring Cleanup this Saturday
Meadville – The City of Meadville Spring Cleanup takes place on Saturday morning, from 8 a.m. to noon. Residents of Meadville can drop off items like yard waste, old mattresses, and batteries at the public works garage on 1340 South Cottage Street for only $10.00 per car or truck load. The public works garage can be accessed from the intersection of Clark Road and Route 322; signs will point the way. New Senior Center and Housing After Demolition
Cambridge Springs – After a successful demolition of an abandoned nursing home, Cambridge Springs will be receiving a new senior center and senior housing on Canfield Street. Crawford County Planning announced on Monday that Active Aging, along with the Blight Revitalization Program, had successfully completed the demolition of the abandoned structure on 110 Canfield Street and that Active Aging will soon begin construction on a new facility.
Main Street Meeting and Mingle
Oil City – The annual Oil City Main Street Program’s Meeting and Mingle takes place this evening from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event is being held at the Rhoades Center on West 1st Street and is open to the public. At the event, there will be light refreshments, networking, and a review of the Program’s accomplishments in 2025, with a look ahead to the future of Oil City. Celebrate Erie Announces Headliners
Erie – Celebrate Erie announced their headliners for the main stage of this year’s festival. The Main Stage will be set up on State Street by The Warner Theater. On Friday night, the hip-hop act behind Mr. Windell, Arrested Development, will take the main stage. Saturday night’s biggest act is pop-rockers The Plain White Ts, and on Sunday, the Beach Boys’ own Al Jardine with the Pet Sounds Band will headline the evening with classic Surf Rock. Celebrate Erie is a free event and this year takes place over the weekend of Friday, August 14th. The festival is still accepting applications for minor acts, vendors, chalk artists, and volunteer staff until May 22nd.
