Missing Man Found
New Castle – A missing Lawrence County man has been found safe. Authorities sounded the alarm for 72-year-old Paul Esser, who walked out of a New Castle Hospital on Friday, May 9th, and vanished for a few days. Paul’s family was concerned because he doesn’t own a car. Police announced on Wednesday that Mr. Esser was found safe and did not elaborate further on his whereabouts.

Teen Arrested for Stabbing
Meadville – A 17-year-old was arrested in Meadville for a stabbing on Tuesday night. The teenager’s name has been protected because of his age, he is accused of stabbing a victim at the Fairmont Apartment Complex just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The suspect is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and multiple related offenses and was remanded to the custody of the Juvenile Probation Department. Meadville Police did not identify the victim nor discuss their condition after the stabbing.

Omnibus Election Bill Passes House
Harrisburg – Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives passed an omnibus election reform bill earlier this week, but only after rejecting portions of the bill strengthening voter ID requirements. The 98-page long bill passed by party lines, 102-101, and is now subject to the approval of the Republican controlled State Senate. The bill includes provisions for multiple election reforms asked for by the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, including allowing counties to process mail-in ballots as they arrive and not at the same time as in-person ballots, and codifying election security processes to be uniform throughout the state.
