Man Killed By Loose Semi-Truck
Rochester – Authorities identified a man killed by a runaway tractor-trailer in Beaver County. Earlier this week, 71-year-old Gene Bores was crushed when a tractor-trailer he and others were unloading at Sherman Williams in Rochester began to roll away. Investigators say that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle’s brakes and that it had not been put into park before the crew began to unload it. Mr. Bores was declared dead at the scene after he was hit while attempting to stop the runway truck; his cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, neck, and pelvis.
Man Killed in Fiery Crash Identified
Erie – Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook says he has identified the body of a man killed in a burning van, but does not yet have an exact cause of death. 39-year-old Deepak Pakhring died on Memorial Day when his van crashed and caught fire on Route 97 in Summit Township, and authorities believe he was still alive when the fire started. The most common cause of death in fires is suffocation from breathing in poisonous gases, but the Coroner couldn’t confirm whether or not Mr. Pahkring had suffocated. The results of a toxicology report will take about six weeks.
