Salmonella Triggers Tomato Recall
Indianapolis, IN – Tomatoes sold at Gordon Food Stores in Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio have been recalled due to potential contamination with salmonella. Ray & Miscari Inc. recalled their four-count Vine Ripe Tomatoes sold exclusively at Gordon Foods stores after being informed that their supplier detected salmonella in their facility. The most common symptoms of salmonella are fever, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, which can lead to more serious or even fatal illness in vulnerable persons. The tomatoes were sold in plastic clamshell packaging labeled VINE RIPE TOMATOES PACKED BY RAY & MISCARI INC. They can be returned if unopened or should otherwise be disposed of.

Primary Elections Loom
Harrisburg – Today is the last day to register to vote ahead of the 2025 primary elections. In PA, registration must be completed 15 days before an election for a voter to participate, and this year’s primaries take place on May 20th. The deadline for requesting mail-in ballots is next Tuesday, May 13th. Most of this year’s elections are municipal races for positions at the local, township, and county levels. This year’s election is on Tuesday November 4th.
