Woman killed in Crash
New Bedford – A 60-year-old woman died on Sunday as a result of a collision near the Lawrence and Mercer County and the Pennsylvania and Ohio State lines. Investigators say that on Sunday morning, Catherine Rodgers was traveling eastbound from Ohio on 422 when she attempted to make a left turn onto Marr Road towards New Bedford and was hit by a westbound vehicle. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is aiding in the investigation of the crash.

Two People Injured in NWPA Crashes
Millcreek Township – The Pennsylvania State Police did not identify a driver who was hospitalized after rolling their pickup truck on the Northbound lane of Interstate 79 late Tuesday night. The investigating trooper says that at 11 p.m. Tuesday night, the driver of a Dodge Ram veered into the left lane of traffic by Mile Marker 180 in Erie County and hit the guard rail. The pickup struck the guardrail with sufficient impact to roll onto its passenger side and injure the driver.

Chewton – A driver was injured in Lawrence County on Sunday. Police say 18-year-old Gavin Partridge of Ellwood City was seriously injured after he missed a turn on Wampum Road near Chewton around 9:45 Sunday morning. His pickup crashed through some brush and then went airborne over a creek and landed upside down on top of the opposite bank. Despite being seriously injured, he was able to call 9-1-1 on his own. He was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.

Crawford County’s Forest Day
Centerville – The Crawford County Planning Commission is holding its annual Forest Day this morning from 9 a.m. until noon. Forest Day is both about performing maintenance on the newly renamed George M. Hummer County Forest in Stueben Township and a celebration of Crawford County’s natural amenities. Volunteers should head to 15284 Greytown Road in Centerville to assemble for the cleanup. You are encouraged to pack a lunch, but gloves, bags, bug repellent, and other necessities will be provided by the county. Garbage Collection will be followed by announcements about future events at the forest and around the county.
