Meadville – Crawford County residents have 1,347,415 reasons to pat themselves on the backs, because that was this year’s grand total from a very successful Crawford Gives. 6,885 individual donors contributed $1.3 million to 206 charities and nonprofits working in Crawford County. The total dwarfs the previous Crawford Gives record by nearly $300,000.
This year’s donation leader was the Academy Theater with just over $62,500. The top five is rounded out with Common Roots, The Meadville Area Free Clinic, Center for Family Services, and The Meadville Area Recreation Foundation. The Meadville Public Library received the most individual donations at 183; Tamarack Wildlife Center was a close second, and Common Roots, Women’s Services, and Ernst Trail, made up that top five.
