Deputies Assaulted by Man in Courthouse
Franklin – A Franklin man has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault and other crimes after his arrest in the Venango County Courthouse last Wednesday. 49-year-old Jeffrey Denny II was wanted by the Venango County Sherrif for unpaid fines, and was seen by deputies inside the courthouse building. Denny allegedly decided to fight with the deputies and resist arrest. He was charged with three counts each of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct for his fight with the deputies.

Girls Wrestling Information Night
Saegertown – The Saegertown Panthers Girls Wrestling Team is holding a Wrestling Information Night tonight at 6:00 p.m. Parents and girls who are interested or curious can join the coach at the Saegertown Jr. Sr. High School Cafeteria to learn more about the growing sport of women’s wrestling.  The team is able to accept girls from 7th to 12th grade who go to school in the Penncrest School District or in Meadville, and Wrestling Information Night is open to anyone within that area. Come learn about the sport, and even try it out, with no obligations. The event is open to all girls in grades 7 to 12, and no experience is required to try it out.
