Man Charged for Sex with Minor
Erie – An Erie man has been charged with multiple felonies after the State Police say he transported a teenage girl across state lines to have relations with her. According to PSP, 22-year-old Joelean Gibbs hired an Uber driver to transport a 14-year-old girl from Ohio to a motel in Erie for a sexual encounter. He was arrested on Sunday and has been charged with five felony counts, including statutory rape and corruption of minors. He secured $25,000 bail through a professional bondsman.

Six Injured in Mining Accident
Sycamore – In state news, six employees were injured after an accident at a mine in Green County. Emergency crews were summoned to Harvey Mine, which is situated near the border between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, for an accident that injured six people late on Monday night. The accident involved a pressurized water hose, but so far, no more details have been released about the incident. Six miners were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment and evaluation, and all but one were discharged by Tuesday morning; the final miner was released on Wednesday.

Meadville – Meadville’s First Friday celebration in November is also First Pie Day.
