Man Injured When Van Hits Crane
Russel – In Warren County, a man suffered a broken leg when the machinery he was operating was hit by a van. Last Wednesday night, around 8:00 p.m., in the town of Russel, 21-year-old Sawyer Lawson was operating a boom lift on Market Street. The lift was not equipped with working headlights or taillights and was struck by a Dodge Caravan while on the roadway. Lawson was tossed from the operator basket and landed hard on the ground, breaking his leg. The other driver was uninjured. He has been charged with a summary offense for operating the vehicle at night without headlights.

Jenkingtown – In state news, two fortune tellers in Montgomery County were in court Monday for alleged theft of more than $600,000 from victims by convincing them they were cursed. Gina Marks and Steve Nicklas are accused of using their fortune-telling business to extort more than $596,000 from a woman whom they convinced was cursed in a manner that would destroy her business, life, and marriage. The pair is also accused of extorting personal photos and around $18,000 from another victim. Marks and Nicklas are charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.
