Teen Injured When ATV Rolls
Woodcock – A teenager was injured when an ATV crashed earlier this month. The Pennsylvania State Police based in Meadville released information on Monday about an October 10th ATV crash that injured a 17-year-old passenger. At about 9:30 p.m. near the village of Woodcock, an ATV operated by 18-year-old Wayne Miller crashed on Gravel Run Road, spilling out both Wayne and his teenage passenger as it rolled. The teenager was taken to Meadville Medical Center for suspected serious injuries, while Wayne refused medical transport. He has been charged with unsafe driving and possibly DUI.

County May Have to Furlough Workers
Meadville – While speaking with the press, Crawford County Commissioner Eric Henry stated that the commissioners may need to furlough some county employees in order to keep paying the bills. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has gone 114 days without a budget, and now, with the federal government also running without funding, county governments are feeling the pinch very strongly. In September, the commissioners implemented hiring and spending freezes, but if the impasses continue, it may lead to the reduction of staff. Commissioner Henry told Erie News Now that the county spends about $5.2 million per month. Much of that operating budget is spent on administering social programs that they get reimbursed for by higher levels of government, with no budget, that money isn’t coming in, and leaves the Counties responsible for covering all of it.
