Police Raid Meadville Vape Stores
Meadville – The City of Meadville Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police, along with officers from the Titusville Police Department, raided two smoke shops in the Meadville area on Thursday. Authorities served warrants on Meadville Tobacco and Vape, and Tobacco King, seizing suspected marijuana, nitrous oxide, and hallucinogenic mushrooms. According to authorities, the two shops had repeatedly failed compliance checks and sold tobacco products to minors. It’s also been alleged by parents that some of their children were becoming sick after buying things at those stores.
Walnut Creek Jane Doe Identified
Erie – One year after her discovery in Erie County’s Walnut Creek, a woman has officially been identified using DNA. Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook announced earlier this week that the body belonged to 51-year-old Rebecca Hakes of McKean County. Rebecca was reported missing by family on Olean, NY, last year and would have turned 52 this week. Her remains were found by a fisherman on the banks of Walnut Creek behind the Millcreek Mall one year ago to this day. She was badly decomposed and had been in the water an estimated four to six months; there was no sign of trauma or foul play.
