Two Die at Erie Yacht Club
Erie – The identities of two senior citizens who died at Erie Yacht Club earlier this week have been revealed. Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook revealed on Wednesday that Warren and Nancy Keck, both 82, of Greenville, died of hypothermia after falling into Lake Erie at an undetermined point on Sunday night or Monday morning. At about 4:15 p.m. on Monday, the body of Nancy was discovered floating near the boat slips at the yacht club, and Warren was found about two hours later. The couple were members of the club and moored a vessel there.
The Return of Applefest
Franklin – Starting tomorrow, the city of Franklin presents the 42nd annual Applefest. The once humble pie-eating contest has grown to one of the largest fall festivals in Pennsylvania, with over 300 vendors, non-stop live entertainment, and tens of thousands of visitors, over just a three-day period. This year, the city expects 100,000 visitors to Applefest! Applefest takes place at both Fountain and Bandstand Parks from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
