Couple Hid Missing Girl from Parents and Police
Oil City – Two Oil City residents have been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly forcing a missing girl to stay in their home while police searched for her, and they also allegedly gave her drugs. Kimberly Adino-Vazquez and Jose Libreros have both been charged with interfering with the custody of a child, concealment of the whereabouts of a child, and corruption of minors. According to Oil City Police, the duo knew that the girl was considered missing and being searched for, but they refused to let her leave, and Libreros even carried a gun around to keep her from trying to get away. Adino-Vazquez is held in Venango County Jail on $150,000 bail, while Libreros was denied bail.
Girls Wrestling Information Night
Saegertown – The Saegertown Panthers Girls Wrestling Team is holding a Wrestling Information Night, Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. Parents and girls who are interested or curious can join the coach at the Saegertown Jr. Sr. High School Cafeteria to learn more about the growing sport of women’s wrestling. The team is able to accept girls from 7th to 12th grade who go to school in the Penncrest School District or in Meadville, and Wrestling Information Night is open to anyone within that area. Come learn about the sport, and even try it out, with no obligations. The event is open to all girls in grades 7 to 12, and no experience is required to try it out.
Spooky Stories at the Library
Oil City – This morning at 10:00 a.m., join the Oil City Library for Halloween! Put on your Halloween costume and visit the library for spooky story time, with scary stories, Halloween themed songs, and fun activities. Children of all ages are invited to this cost-free event at the Oil City Public Library, which starts at 10:00 in the morning. Happy Halloween!
Sheriff Charged With Corruption of Minors
Somerset – In State News, a County Sheriff has been charged by the Attorney General with corruption of a minor after an incident reported during a shop with a cop event last December. According to AG Sunday, Somerset County Sheriff Dustin Weir was sent a summons in the mail to appear in court for a preliminary hearing next week. According to a press release, the incident happened in December last year, when Sunday says that Sheriff Weir took photographs of a 15-year-old girl by a display of condoms at a Walmart location. During the impromptu photo shoot, he allegedly questioned the teenager about her love life, whether her boyfriends use condoms, and made sexual remarks.
