Crash with Deer Hospitalizes One
Blooming Valley – A Crawford County woman was hospitalized after hitting a deer in late September. According to crash scene investigators, Marsha Wagner of Meadville was taken to Meadville Medical Center after hitting a deer at about 8:45 p.m. last Friday night. The crash happened near Blooming Valley in Woodcock Township as she travelled along Route 77. The deer rushed onto the highway directly in front of her lane of travel and couldn’t be avoided. The impact killed the animal, destroyed her vehicle, and injured Ms Wagner badly enough that she was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Woman Charged for Stealing, Damaging, Car
Franklin – A Franklin woman has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly stealing a car from a friend. Loriann Caliguire has been charged with theft by taking a movable object, receiving stolen property, and other crimes after she allegedly stole a vehicle from a friend she had been spending the night with. According to the Franklin Police Department, Caliguire drove off in her friend’s car early Tuesday morning, hitting a basketball hoop and multiple objects and decorations in the yard, and then abandoning the severely damaged car near the town of Farrell in Mercer County. The victim stated that Caliguire was behaving oddly that night and surmised that she may have been using methamphetamine before the theft.
