Arson Charges for Camper Fire
Oil City – An Oil City man was arrested for Arson on Sunday, after allegedly setting fire to a camper he was evicted from. 38-year-old Charles Meyers Jr was arrested on Sunday and charged with Arson, Risking a Catastrophe, and some summary and misdemeanor charges after he received an eviction notice from the owner of the camper he was living in. A witness states they saw the posting of the eviction notice, and a short time later, Myers left the camper while smoke started to billow from it. He ran from the scene but returned later to watch Oil City Firefighters put out the fire. Court records indicate that he remains in Venango County Jail, unable to post $15,000 bail.
Found Firearm in PSP Custody
Meadville – The Pennsylvania State Police has taken possession of a found firearm. The weapon is a Smith & Wesson 66-1 discovered in an abandoned storage locker at West Meade Self Storage. The serial number is #107K719, and the revolver has been taken to the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Meadville, where it has been entered into evidence until an owner can be found. Money Stolen from ATM
Titusville – The Titusville Police Department is searching for at least two suspects involved in the theft of $60,000 from an ATM. The theft happened at Community Connect Federal Credit Union on East Spring Street at around midnight on Sunday night. TPD believes the thieves used a technique known as Jackpotting, where they use illegal software to gain unauthorized access to the money inside the ATM. The suspects were both wearing all black clothing with gators to cover their facial features. In security footage, they both appear to be white males. Teen Assaulted over Weekend
Conneaut Lake – Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened at a haunted house attraction. A 15-year-old girl alleges that on Saturday night, she was indecently assaulted by another teen in Conneaut Lake Park on Center Street, presumably, while they were at the Ghost Lake attraction. The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating, but there are no further details available about the case.
