Police Cruiser Hits Car in Intersection
Erie – A Police Officer, a pedestrian, and a 40-year-old man were hospitalized Friday morning when a police SUV on the way to a call crashed into a Ford Prius in Erie. By Friday afternoon, the officer had been released from care, but the driver of the car was apparently in critical condition, and we could not find an update about him or the pedestrian. The names of any of the involved parties have not been revealed. Erie Police Department says that the officer was responding to a call and passed through a red light on West 11th and Sassafras Street. A driver with a green light entered the intersection and was hit, and his car struck a pedestrian on the side of the road. It is not clear whether the officer’s siren was running before the crash.
