Bus Driver Threatens to Cook School Students
Sugarcreek – Last Thursday, the Sugarcreek Police Department reported that a bus driver for Valley Grove Elementary School has been charged with crimes after trying to punish students on his route. 75-year-old Hardy Sliker of Utica allegedly ordered children aged 5-12 years old to shut all the windows on the bus while he turned the heater up to maximum temperature to punish the children for what he deemed bad behavior, threatening, “I’m going to cook you.” 
He also threatened to bring a paddle to beat them with next time. With temperatures inside the bus reaching up to 100 degrees, Sliker has been charged with assault and reckless endangerment. He has also been banned from Valley Grove School District property.

Road Closed in Meadville
Meadville – The City of Meadville is warning commuters of a road closure on Water Street. Starting today. Water Street will be closed at its intersection between Terrace and Randalph Streets and Park Street for about two weeks while work is done to repair and replace a section of the city sewer system.  The street should reopen on October 6th if everything goes to plan.
