Community Babyshower by the FCCA
Meadville – For new or expecting mothers, it’s still not too late to register for the Family Children and Community Association’s Community Baby Shower next Tuesday. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on September 8th, the FCCA, in partnership with WIC, will be hosting a baby shower for all new and expectant mothers, whether it is their first time or they are growing their family. At the main office on 381 Chestnut Street in Meadville, there will be food, traditional and not-so-traditional baby shower games, free baby essentials, and more. Mercer Street Closure
Meadville – Starting this morning at 7 a.m. Mercer Street in Meadville will be closed between Cussewago Road and the Parkway, reopening next Thursday, September 10th. Access to local businesses will still be available, but through traffic will not be allowed. Crews will be working on the railway crossing adjacent to the Parkway during this time. Please use a detour by way of the Mead Avenue and Spring Street Bridges during this time.
Bulldogs Football on Pop
Meadville/Erie – Pop 98.1 and 100.7 continues the WMGW tradition of Meadville Football. Last week, Meadville dropped a close game to the Oilers in their season opener. This Friday, the Bulldogs travel to Erie Veterans Memorial Stadium to take on the Royals. Erie is fresh off a 2-point win against Du Bois. Can the dogs get it together and win this conference game? Vote for the Oil Region Heritage Awards
Oil City – Voting on the winners for the Oil Region National Heritage Area Tourism Awards is open through Labor Day. The awards close at midnight on September 7th, and winners will be announced soon afterwards and celebrated at a ceremony in October. The Oil Region National Heritage Area includes most of Venango County and the Titusville area in Crawford County.
