Man Flees Fatal Pedestrian Crash
Kennerdell – A Venango County man is being held without bail after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal SUV vs pedestrian crash earlier this month. The Pennsylvania State Police released an information report about the arrest of 38-year-old Bradley Barnhart, who is charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular homicide while DUI, and reckless driving. According to police, Barnhart was arrested on September 13th. He was under the influence when he failed to navigate a turn on Route 38 in Richland Township and struck and killed a Kennerdell man who was collecting his mail. They say he drove away, parked in a nearby parking lot, and fled the scene on foot.

Former Correction Officer Charged
Marienville – A former guard at SCI Forest has been charged with several crimes for allegedly assaulting fellow corrections officers in May. Garret Smead of Warren has been charged with indecent assault, indecent exposure, unlawful restraint, and other crimes. According to Attorney General Dave Sunday, on two separate occasions on May 21st, Smead restrained a newly hired officer, removed some of his clothing, and sexually assaulted them. He also wrote ‘Property of G. Smead’ on one of his victims.
