Fatal Crash Kills One
Harmonsuburg – A Meadville man is dead, and a Conneaut Lake man was hospitalized after a Tuesday afternoon crash near Harmonsburg. Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon in Crawford County, investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police say that 67-year-old Richard Eddy was killed when he drove his car into the intersection of State Route 18 and Angew Road without waiting for clearance and was hit by a pickup truck. The truck’s driver, a 58-year-old man from Conneaut Lake, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Meadville Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.

One Injured When Motorbike Hits Deer
Mercer – In Mercer County, a man was not wearing safety equipment when he hit a deer while riding a motorcycle in Coolspring Township and had to be hospitalized. John Swayne Jr was taken to Grove City Hospital on Labor Day in unknown condition when he struck a deer that rushed out onto North Perry Highway around 1 p.m. A report from the police who investigated the scene says that John was almost able to recover and traveled along the road for a short distance before eventually falling off of his bike and getting injured. The extent of his injuries has not been reported.
