Coroner Seeks Help Finding Victim’s Family
Franklin Venango County Coroner, Christina Rugh, is asking for help to locate the family of a man who died in the Hospital. 53-year-old Brian McClelland died at UPMC Hamot on Tuesday, January 27th, and the Coroner has been unable to locate any next of kin or extended family members to give custody of the remains. According to Rugh, she has exhausted her usual search options with local law enforcement and clinical history and now needs to turn to the public for help. Man Injured in Three-Story Fall
Erie – A man was injured after falling three stories from the Erie Insurance Building on Thursday. Details are very scarce. What is known is that a construction contractor working on the building fell from the third story and was injured. The extent of the man’s injuries, his current condition, and what caused the fall are all currently unknown. We do know the man was alive, conscious, and taken to a trauma center in Erie.

Groundhog Day 2026
Punxsutawney – It is Groundhog Day, and all of America was looking toward Pennsylvania’s chief prognosticator to predict the future of the weather for the next six weeks. Tradition holds that if the immortal groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil encounters his shadow, then there will be six more weeks of winter, and if he does not, then we shall experience an early emergence of spring. Phil made his 139th once-a-year performance on Gobbler’s Knob at 7:26 a.m., where he advised his closest human trustees in Groundhogees that he has seen his shadow and predicts six more weeks of winter.
The Groundhog Day tradition has been carried on by the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club since 1886, and these days the festival is bigger than ever and one of the most anticipated events of winter. The tradition behind Groundhog Day came to the United States along with immigrants from central Europe, where they traditionally looked for signs from badgers and other burrowing creatures so they knew when to prepare for spring.
