Good Hope/Zion Lutheran Churches Thanksgiving Meal Delivery

November 23

The Good Hope and Zion Lutheran Churches will be delivering full Thanksgiving meals to the elderly, shut-in, and homebound members of the community on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023. The meal and the delivery are completely free.

Starting in October 2002, Good Hope Lutheran Church partnered with Zion Lutheran Church to provide a monthly free community meal for residents who live on the east side of Oil City. On Thanksgiving Day, the first free Thanksgiving dinner meal delivery was accomplished and served 114 elderly and shut-in Oil City residents. In 2022, Good Hope and Zion volunteers prepared and delivered over 350 Thanksgiving meals to homebound residents in Oil City, Cranberry, Seneca, Rouseville, and Franklin.

The meal is funded by local grants and by generous support from community groups and individual community members. If you would like to support the meal by any means (monetary or volunteering) please contact the Director of Community Ministries, Joyce Frenz at 724-699-0861.
