A Clarion man’s celebration of becoming a father ended up putting him in jail. According to a press release from the Pennsylvania State Police and eyewitness accounts, 42-year-old Jason Bonner tied one on while his girlfriend was giving birth at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Bonner consumed two beers, two bottles of wine, and finally a pint of vodka before causing a disturbance in the hospital maternity ward that only ended in his arrest.

The City of Meadville Fire Department is a recent recipient of a grant from the Leary Firefighters Foundation. The grant of $8,383 was announced via social media over the weekend and is to help the department pay for bailout kits, which can be used to escape quickly from burning structures. The Leary Firefighters Association was founded in 2000 by actor/comedian David Leary and this was only the second grant the foundation has ever awarded in Northwest Pennsylvania.
